[Image] NFA PERMISSION IS GRANTED TO COPY AND DISTRIBUTE THESE PAGES VOLUME XII, NUMBER 12 1995, DECEMBER EDITORIAL ALBERTA MEETING: While a lot could be said from this meeting I think the real point to be learned is most important. MP Phil Gagnon is Parliamentary Secretary to Herb Grey, the Federal Solicitor General. To quote one disgusted questioner, "you have not answered one single question that was asked you here tonight." Unfortunately for us all he was correct. Lesson - it is absolutely clear that the Liberals have not changed in any way. The obvious answer is that they MUST receive the same lesson given the PCs in the last election. ELECTION SIGNS: Particularly bearing in mind the above paragraph we strongly suggest that all clubs and organizations order these immediately to be sure of being ready for the next election. Right now it is a toss-up when this could be. Much better to be early than late. From the way orders for the book Party Time are flowing in it is apparent that a lot of you are getting ready. TWEEDELDUM(B) AND TWEEDLEDEE: Or as more commonly known to the media - Chretien and Charest. It was very obvious that the Quebecois that know these people the best - the members of their own ridings - have no great faith in either person or party represented by them. In the referendum vote our sources showed over 70% in both ridings voted for seperation. Simply to get rid of both? BOYCOTT OF KNOWN LIBERAL FINANCIAL SUPPORTERS: Following up on the suggested action of several groups we believe it could be made more effective if you apply a technique used effectively by others. Zero in on only a few of the major Liberal supporters thus not only depriving them to their competitors. This doubles the impact. At this time we have identified the Hudson Bay Co., Eatons of Canada, and Canadian Tire as three of the largest supporters. If you choose to follow this route make it even more effective by notifying the concerned store managers exactly why you, as a concerned customer, are removing your support of their organizations. It certainly worked when we zeroed in on the 7-11 store some time ago. Word from Saskatchewan says that farmers are targeting Dupont dealers and products. GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY The Quebec referendum result has presented us with a golden opportunity. The Liberals blew it, and we need to point that out to everyone who has not already realized it. There is a good possibility that we can use their errors to force a federal election. Attached you will find the suggested text for a "Letter to the Editor" or to an MP or Senator, intended to be published in "Letters to the Editor" sections of any and all news media and to back up rebel MPs and Senators. If they are faced with a federal election - or even a serious fight over whether or not a federal election must be called - the Liberals are likely to drop anything controversial, like Bill C-68. Even the Liberals know that offending huge numbers of voters on the eve of an election is foolhardy. The letter proposes three things. Dump Chretien, call an election, and establish a Constitutional Convention to draft a new constitution. Each of the 3 will have a good bit of popular support, even outside the firearms community. The 3 will start Liberal cat-fights. Some MPs will want to dump Chretien to PREVENT a federal election; some will want a federal election to PREVENT losing Chretien; some will want both to PREVENT the establishment of the Constitutional Convention. We have sufficient numbers and we are well enough organized to start a groundswell of demand for a federal election. Chretien has proved himself incompetent and proved that his Liberal MPs are merely his obedient servants - even when he is wrong. Please copy and distribute the letter text and this paper. This is a golden opportunity - let's not waste it. And it won't do any harm to the politicians' view of our political clout if we succeed - first, in removing Chretien; second, in forcing a federal election. That is real political clout. If an election is called, the Liberals will be at a major disadvantage, proven incompetent. The Conservatives will be starting froma very weak base, and few will regard them as serious contenders. The NDP is very weak. That leaves who? We do live in interesting times... Yours truly, David A. Tomlinson National President SUGGESTED TEXT - LETTER TO EDITOR, MP OR SENATOR I have just watched while my country came within an inch of being destroyed because Prime Minister Jean Chretien arrogantly refused to allow Liberal MPs and Cabinet Ministers begin a campaign for national unity. He relied upon his own estimate of what Quebec could and would do. I condemn his inappropriate arrogance. The Liberal MPs and Cabinet Ministers meekly accepted his orders, and took no effective part in the early campaigning. I condemn their cowardice and refusal to act in a time of intense national emergency. I strongly condemn their acceptance of bad advice from Jean Chretien - advice they believed to be wrong. It was only when it became obvious to the entire nation that Mr. Chretien had completely misjudged the situation that the Liberal majority in government began to campaign. It was very nearly too little and too late, and what little they did did not contribute significantly to the slim margin that saved our nation. I have completely lost confidence in the federal Liberals. I demand the resignation of Jean Chretien, and I demand that a federal election be called - for the earlist possible moment. It is glaringly obvious that we are about to have another round of Constitutional revision. If we do not, Quebec's seperatists will simpy hold another referendum - and may win it. The last two rounds of attempted Constitutional revision have both floundered on the rock of conflict of interest. Sitting federal and provincial leaders shuffled powers to benefit themselves. They threw a few bones to special interest groups in the hope of winning some votes for the next election. No wonder Canadian voters rejected their proposals! Sitting politicians have proved (twice!) that they cannot or will not propose good Constitutional changed - at least not without trying to tie unacceptable powers for themselves into the package. Another Meech Lake or Charlottetown would be useless. I demand that our government take immediate action to establish an elected Constitutional Convention in which sitting politicians and Ministry employees will only have an advisory role. I further demand that any Constitutional proposals put forward by the Constitutional Convention shall only come into force after being ratified by a national referendum. I suggest that the Constitutional Convention be charged with the duty of producing an entirelly new Constitution. Our old one has been damaged by generations of self-serving politicians and bureaucrats who twisted its meaning to their own advantage. Our constitution is obsolete. We need a 21st-century replacement. BC PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE President: Vice-President: Vice-President: Dennis Horsman Doug Chandler Michelle Traver 34659 Delair Rd P.O. (604) 936-7480 CANADA'S WATERGATE? Recently, a TV expose featured a masked Quebec police officer confessing that his police force routinely used perjury, burglary, and other criminal acts to "get convictions" on people the police had decided were "guilty." Did that worry you? You may remember the 13 Mar 95 Marstar raid. About 30 RCMP, customs and OPP officers hit that rural firearms business, even bringing a helicopter. They herded the staff around the iced-ver yard with loaded, cocked submachine guns rammed into their backs - with safeties off and fingers on the triggers. They refused to identify themselves, as required by law. They trashed both Marstar's offices and the home of the owner. Since then, Marstar has appeared in court five times, ready to answer all charges. Each time, the federal Crown prosecutor has asked for "more time to prepare" - and got it. What has happened during the "time to prepare" they requested? Two weeks ago, the Rockland ON office of Mr. Radford, attorney for Marstar, was burglarized. The theives disassembled Mr. Radford's computer and that of his secretary, and stole only the information-storage hard drives. The computers of four other lawyers in the office complex were untouched. One week ago, the Toronto ON office of Calvin Martin, QC, attorney for Marstar, was burglarized. The theives stole Mr. Martin's computer, and that of his secretary. They took the entire computer - probably because the Rockland burglary made it too obvious that the burglars were employed by our government. The computers of two other lawyers in the office complex were untouched. Are you disgusted? Photocopy this and spread it. Write to your MP and demand an investigation. We don't want this in Canada. Our campaign for the next federal election started on the day Conservative Senators voted for C-68. Our strategy is to bare the fact that the Liberals and Conservatives stand united, and to campaign continuously from now to the next federal election day. C-68 unmasked an old truth: The Liberal Party and the Conservative Party are identical. They are not two Parties; they are one Party with two faces.
