I write both to congratulate and to chide and additionally to announce that one more Hero has accepted the Challenge..... I congratulate those ninety-two patriots that have thus far contributed to the RFC Ottawa Fund, together they have raised, according to Professor Dorans, $ 17,500.00 The RFC is now but $ 132,500.00 short of the funding necessary to open its office in Ottawa....! It goes without saying however, that those that monitor our progress, on behalf of our adversary, a government which seeks to extinguish the Rights and Freedoms of Canadians and their Political and Bureaucratic Masters must be laughing their collective heads-off..... Is this their opposition, is this their adversary, but ninety-two souls......with $ 17,500.00 We are in stark contrast to their might, particularly armed with Millions of more Dollars from the Canadian Treasury, but chaff before their wind. I register and declare my disappointment and my amazement, that in all of Canada, there are but ninety-two that would stand-up with their pocketbooks, that would back-up their words, with their commitment of funds. It has oft been said, even $10.00 would help, 10 times ten dollars is $100.00 and 10 times one hundred dollars is $ 1,000.00 We must not, we dare not fail, or we will not and those that come after us will no longer be Free Canadians, living in Liberty. I am in awe of the effort which has recently been invested in letter writing, it has been stunning. Letters and telephone calls to MP's and to Senators, letters to Editors all over this country, postings to the Digest, great and novel ideas and actions. All for naught, the Registry has their money...! Will the Media continue their interest...? We shall see, remember however, the Registry was not on their radar screen before the Auditor's Report, what will keep their interest on it now...? I mean not to denigrate the value of the letters and the calls, however, in my judgment we must operate as our friend Wendy and her ilk operate, in the way Ottawa operates....the Lobby. This requires the RFC to open the RFC Ottawa office and operate in a way that we might alter the opinions of Canadians, it is my considered opinion that we will not do this without this office. Therefore, I call again and with urgency, on all of you that read and post to the Digest, send in what you can, do it today, consider accepting the $ 1,000.00 challenge, raise $ 1,000.00 for the cause, raise it from your friends and your neighbours and your associates, you need to talk to them anyway, in order that they might know and understand what is going on in this country, in their name. Most Canadians still don't know.....Tell them, they will contribute if they know....! In spite of my current negativism, I have the great pleasure to announce that we have another Patriot in our midst. He is a new addition to the Digest and a bit leery of the ramifications of exposing himself publicly. He has however, sought me out to accepted the challenge and is as I write, busy raising his $ 1,000.00...! You will all doubtless see him on the Professor's next Fund raising update, registered as: "Undercover Brother No. 134" Please welcome him, he isn't simply talking, he is acting and I salute him. Const. Mark Kay has been transferred from Hinton to Raymond where he has joined the International Border Enforcement Team. "Mark's a big loss," said Staff-Sgt. Ron Fehr of the Hinton detachment. "He's going to be hard to replace." Kay's CheckStops on Highway 16 between the gate to Jasper National Park and Hinton netted at least $1.2 million worth of drugs during his six years at the detachment. That was the figure in early 2000 and Kay says he isn't sure of the total value of the interceptions before he left the detachment in October 2002. "It was all a bit exaggerated," he said modestly. "A lot of it was just luck." Kay is also reluctant to talk about his work with the border enforcement unit. "It's different work and there's not the volume of traffic," he said. "Some of it involves national security. All I can say is that the people here all bring different skills to the job." Until the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks the border enforcement teams were mainly concerned with catching drug and tobacco smugglers. Now, watching for terrorists attempting to cross the U.S. border has become a bigger part of the job. The teams draw on law enforcement experts from both sides of the border including RCMP, Canada Customs investigators, U.S. Border Patrol agents, U.S. Customs Service officers, and members of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Apr 2003 11:45:14 -0600 (CST) From: Bruce Mills Subject: Witness saw cops hit drunk http://www.canoe.ca/EdmontonNews/es.es-04-02-0029.html Wednesday, April 2, 2003 Witness saw cops hit drunk Parolee's 'head hit metal part of front entrance' By TONY BLAIS, COURT BUREAU A drunk parolee had his head knocked into a metal doorway when a city cop hit him while another officer was kneeling on the man's back, court heard yesterday. Tam Nguyen, a caseworker at an inner-city halfway house, testified about the alleged attack during the assault causing bodily harm trial of Const. Bradley Pearce and Const. Derek McIntyre in provincial court. Nguyen said the two beat cops had gone to the basement of Independence Apartments, 10637 106 St., on June 29, 2001, to arrest Lyndon Chambers for violating his parole. After partially hearing a verbal altercation between the three men, Nguyen testified he saw the officers dragging Chambers up the stairs and Pearce, 33, strike the parolee in the head with an open hand. Then, on the landing at the top of the stairs, Nguyen said he saw McIntyre, 33, kneeling on Chambers trying to put handcuffs on him. Chambers was screaming, " 'Please stop, you're going to break my arm,' " said Nguyen. "Then I saw contact with Pearce's hand and (Chambers') head and his head hitting the metal part of the front entrance by the door," said Nguyen. The caseworker said Chambers had blood on his face, some swelling on his cheek and above his eye, and a large gash on his head. Under cross-examination, Nguyen agreed that in his statement to city police internal affairs he said McIntyre was the one who struck Chambers and then said he wasn't sure which of the two officers delivered the blow. Chambers, 39, testified he was fairly drunk after having eight beers on the evening of the alleged assault and said he blacked out and doesn't remember much. "Basically, I remember waking up bleeding and then they took me out the front door," said Chambers, adding he received three stitches to the head in the hospital and suffered two black eyes and a swollen cheek. Chambers admitted he has a lengthy criminal record and has been a heroin addict. He also said he has hired a civil lawyer and is planning to sue the two police officers. Caseworker Jennifer Roles testified Chambers returned intoxicated to the halfway house about 10 p.m. and after admitting he was drunk, he became agitated and was verbally abusive towards staff and threatening suicide. Roles said Chambers also punched and kicked the walls, and she called police because he was getting angrier. Edmonton Police Service spokesman Dean Parthenis said Pearce and McIntyre remain on active duty. The pair have been with the force for about six years. The trial continues today. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Apr 2003 12:15:43 -0600 (CST) From: "T.Bennett Finley" Subject: RFC Ottawa Donations Some progress made: My 83 year old cousin with Parkinson's has sent his donation to Ottawa and with his wife has taken on the task of distributing the info I sent him to all the hunters and shooter in that rural area, asking them all to donate. In fact, moving the program to the Solicitor General, which was supposed to be a major shift and which was supposed to happen today, has been put off indefinitely. Instead of getting bogged down in this all but vaudevillian improvisation, what is the minister waiting for to suspend the gun control program in order to get to the bottom of this waste of public money? Hon. Martin Cauchon (Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, this is a somewhat surprising statement from the member, because she knows quite well that the gun control program has a great deal of support among Canadians. Second, this is a program that is already providing benefits in terms of public security. This is something that goes to the core of Canadian values. The gun, even though stolen and not in your possession is still registered to you. You keep your grandfathered status. If the gun registry records indicate you hold a registration certificate, you keep your status, you don't have to be in possession of the gun. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ And if this gun is subsequently used in a crime, and if the perp is leaving it at the scene of the crime, it will all come back to you ????
