Fox took that title from CBS. It was the only major broadcast network with more prime-time viewers than the previous season, a distinction helped by its telecast of the Super Bowl. Fox didn't show television's biggest event during the 2006-7 season. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 May 2008 13:24:56 -0400 From: "mred" Subject: Re: Texas Police Chief Accused of Sex With Underage Girl - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joe Gingrich" To: "Canadian Firearms Digest" Sent: Friday, May 23, 2008 12:45 PM Subject: Texas Police Chief Accused of Sex With Underage Girl > http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,357381,00.html > > Texas Police Chief Accused of Sex With Underage Girl > > Thursday, May 22, 2008 > > RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas - A Starr County grand jury has indicted the > police chief of the small South Texas town of La Grulla on a charge of > soliciting sex from a minor. > > According to the indictment released Thursday, the grand jury believes > Alfredo Hernandez tried to talk a girl younger than 17 years of age into > having sex with him last month. > > Hernandez was booked into the Starr County Jail on Thursday and released > on $5,000 bond. > > District attorney's investigator Carlos Delgado said the girl had > complained about the incident and it was forwarded to law enforcement. > > Hernandez was unavailable at the La Grulla police department, which > referred calls to Mayor Oscar Gonzalez. The up shot was ? In court it was discovered that they made the false accusations BECAUSE the teacher had failed them in one of their subjects, or perhaps it was the whole semester ? I cant remember exactly. Of course the teachers reputation was ruined ,even though he was aquitted of any wrong doing. 2........Nobody EVER believes the male of being innocent of these type of accusations , its always the females` word is law. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 May 2008 10:45:39 -0600 From: Joe Gingrich Subject: Texas Police Chief Accused of Sex With Underage Girl http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,357381,00.html Texas Police Chief Accused of Sex With Underage Girl Thursday, May 22, 2008 RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas - A Starr County grand jury has indicted the police chief of the small South Texas town of La Grulla on a charge of soliciting sex from a minor. Which is posted on the well site ... However minute the elements are ? (they are ALL naturally occurring)the water STILL tastes MUCH better than the City of Hamilton water which is full of Love Canal chemicals and chlorine, AND RECOMBINATED SEWAGE WATER,which is a serious poison. It tastes like fresh spring water should taste, and not recycled chemical sewage like the Hamilton water. There is no chlorine in it, and I have been drinking this water for many years and have yet to suffer any intestinal or other complaints from it. The water runs constantly day and night, non stop, I dont know the exact flow in gallons but it takes about 30 seconds to fill a US gallon jug. No I wont stop drinking this water; they tell me it takes 10,000 years for surface water to percolate down to the water table of an artesian well, so the water I`m drinking today is conceivably that old. Since Ancaster is a maze of hills and valleys of alluvial gravel and sand deposited by the last glacial ice-age I have more confidence in drinking this water than the chemical soup provided by the City. I have been in the Conservation area which I live next to, and have found springs with water running constantly day and night in the hottest driest summers. Canton: New law threatens jail time for not mowing the lawn http://www.wkyc.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=90053&catid=3 CANTON -- The city of Canton is being overwhelmed by a literally growing problem -- property owners who won't use a lawnmower. The city now cuts grass and weeds on more than 2,000 thousand privately-owned lots at a cost of a quarter million dollars a year. Foreclosures are a big part of the problem. But most of the lots are owned by Canton residents. Health Department officials are worried about creating hiding places for rats and breeding grounds for ticks. Council is expected to pass a law Monday that could carry jail time for a second offense. Repeat offenders could face a $250 fine and 30 days in jail. City leaders promise this law won't be used on senior or sickly property owners. "This law is for that person that's healthy, alive and irresponsible," said Environmental Health Director Mark Adams. Councilman Greg Hawk said, "We don't want to be in the lawnmowing businesses. We're looking for the repeat offender we're providing cheap lawn maintenance for." When a newspaper story about this got posted on the Drudge report website, it brought dozens of outraged e-mails from around the country calling it government overkill. "Sounds like Russia to me," said one. Another said ,"Where do they find these Hitlerian morons." But most Canton residents we asked said jail time was not too stiff a penalty for uncooperative property owners. Jack Harris said, "I have no complaint with that. This brings down property values." Fletcher Pierce said, "Most people try to keep their property up. Some people don't care. Something should be done. It's a blight on the neighborhood." Councilman Hawk claims publicity about the law has already prompted property owners to bring out the mowers. Resident Robert Posey repairs lawnmowers and hopes to make money off the lawn law. A big sign in his front yard says, "Will Cut Grass." © 2008 WKYC-TV ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 May 2008 17:31:47 -0400 From: br8boss@xcelco.on.ca Subject: Re: Cdn-Firearms Digest V11 #438 > Date: Sun, 18 May 2008 13:25:10 -0400 > From: "D R Goodbrand" > Subject: Re: Oka/Ipperwash and the Emergencies Act > > Subject: Re: OKA?? Arthur Tesler, 42, was the only officer to face trial in the raid, which led to an outcry from civil rights activists and to a shake-up of the police department. Tesler also was sentenced to serve six months of probation and 450 hours of community service. Kathryn Johnston died in a hail of police bullets after narcotics officers burst into her northwest Atlanta home the night of Nov. 21, 2006, using a special no-knock warrant to search for drugs. Testimony showed that Tesler was in Johnston's back yard when other officers went in through the front door. Johnston fired a single shot at the intruders, and officers returned a volley of 39, striking her five or six times. Police originally said they had gone to the woman's house after an informant bought drugs there. After searching the home and finding no drugs, the officers tried to cover up the mistake, planting three baggies of marijuana, prosecutors said. Tesler was convicted of making false statements, but was acquitted of two more serious charges, violating his oath of office and of false imprisonment under color of legal process. Tesler lied to support his partners' claims that they had valid information for a search warrant, but he later admitted the truth to the FBI, said his lawyer, William J. McKenney. McKenney asked Johnson for the minimum one-year prison sentence, and called relatives and one of Tesler's neighbors to vouch for his character and ask the judge to allow him to return soon to his wife and four children, ages 10 months to 13 years. The shackled Tesler blinked back tears as his wife, Kelli, expressed their remorse for the tragedy and described her husband as a good man and "a dad who has to regularly beat up monsters in the closet before bedtime." The prosecutor, Kellie S. Hill, asked the judge to sentence Tesler to the maximum of five years in prison "to do what is just for Ms. Johnston." Hill said Tesler could have told the truth at any time. "For those monsters that he can't fight for his children, he can blame himself," she said. Two others officers have pleaded guilty to state manslaughter and federal civil rights charges. They have been helping investigators in other cases unrelated to Johnston's death and have not yet been sentenced. ------------------------------ End of Cdn-Firearms Digest V11 #452 *********************************** Submissions: mailto:cdn-firearms-digest@scorpion.bogend.ca Mailing List Commands: mailto:majordomo@scorpion.bogend.ca Moderator's e-mail address: mailto:drg.jordan@sasktel.net List owner: mailto:owner-cdn-firearms@scorpion.bogend.ca FAQ list: http://www.canfirearms/Skeeter/Faq/cfd-faq1.html Web Site: http://www.canfirearms.ca CFDigest Archives: http://www.canfirearms.ca/archives To unsubscribe from _all_ the lists, put the next four lines in a message and mailto:majordomo@scorpion.bogend.ca unsubscribe cdn-firearms-digest unsubscribe cdn-firearms-chat unsubscribe cdn-firearms end (To subscribe, use "subscribe" instead of "unsubscribe".)
