This possible home invasion is just as much a home invasion as a home invasion is, and it's called a home invasion..... Maybe what they consider a home invasion is when someone get's shot, injured or killed, 2 hours before they arrive........then the gun owner is arrested ransacked, gun confiscated, then brought to justice....by the court $ystems...... Since the police don't call it a home invasion, then the defendant homeowner doesn't have a leg to stand on....but the worthless crooks get a leisure holiday for 6 months in club fed. Len sez . . Robert is on to something ! let's see . . B&E of a dwelling? Indictable offence penalty LIFE Home invasion where someone is injured? You would think there would be a greater penalty ? Not if the cops ( or Crown ) fail to see it that way . . Case in point possible home invasion . . possible ??? It's enough to raise the hackles of a thinking citizen . hence the justified explosion . Crime has enough help from soft judges and weak-fish crown without cops showing the white feather . Octavian Emilian Olaru, who was 19 at the time of his arrest in November 2007, pleaded guilty in January. "It would appear, based on the psychological assessments that were done and the information in his statements to the police, that he's a young man who collects things," Crown Counsel Wendy Dawson said yesterday. "Previously, he collected coins and watches. [The guns] weren't for malicious purposes." Dawson said Olaru "absolutely does not" have gang connections. He did however, know that the guns were illegal, she said. "It's apparent from his statements to the police and the e-mails that he had with the undercover police officer in the United States. He knew that they were illegal," said Dawson. Olaru, who ordered automatic weapons from a U.S. firearms dealer over the Internet, was arrested in Surrey when he arrived to pick up three automatic weapons -- a Glock 18C with a 33-round magazine, a Heckler and Koch MP5K submachine gun with a silencer and a Beretta 93R pistol with a high-capacity magazine. The weapons, which are allowed in the U.S. with proper certificates, are banned in Canada. Surrey Provincial Court Judge Rose Raven sentenced Olaru on July 30. "Essentially, he's house-bound 24 hours a day for six months," said Dawson. "And for the remaining six months . . . he has a curfew of 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily. Olaru was also placed on probation for three years along with other conditions. jkeating@theprovince.com ------------------------------ End of Cdn-Firearms Digest V12 #121 *********************************** Submissions: mailto:cdn-firearms-digest@scorpion.bogend.ca Mailing List Commands: mailto:majordomo@scorpion.bogend.ca Moderator's e-mail address: mailto:drg.jordan@sasktel.net List owner: mailto:owner-cdn-firearms@scorpion.bogend.ca FAQ list: http://www.canfirearms/Skeeter/Faq/cfd-faq1.html Web Site: http://www.canfirearms.ca CFDigest Archives: http://www.canfirearms.ca/archives To unsubscribe from _all_ the lists, put the next four lines in a message and mailto:majordomo@scorpion.bogend.ca unsubscribe cdn-firearms-digest unsubscribe cdn-firearms-chat unsubscribe cdn-firearms end (To subscribe, use "subscribe" instead of "unsubscribe".)
