Wealthy, confident, highest GNP, lowest employment rate, Germany's dominance in the E.U. has been undisputed. When the Germans are upset. It's a major story. Though one the MSM in North America won't cover. They presume citizens here have no internet access, and low information voters don't. =20 an excerpt-note that migration into Europe has been driven by criminal gangs and Islamist movements taking advantage of the Schengen 'Open Borders" within the E.U.=20 There has been almost zero immigration control as we know it. Some people e.i Buchanan, argue for a 19th century isolationist policy to Islamist jihad, not taking it seriously, allowing the I.S. Caliphate to form and exist. A minimalist military policy to stop it from expanding further but not eliminating it.=20 Yes, they are evil, but that doesn't mean they are stupid. =20 The political/economic/social disruption of 1 year of uncontrolled migration, in effect, a cultural invasion. =20 A functional E.U. would have simply ordered their navies to control the coasts off of North Africa, Syria et al, and ordered Turkey to close their northern borders or be blockaded and be kicked out of=20 NATO. If this is the result of a single year and a million migrants, what = about a second, a third year of this. =20 19th century isolationism doesn't work when they are close enough to walk through into your cities, and there are no gates. To not have any border and immigration control is in part to cease to exercise sovereignty as a nation state. (Much of organized crime is controlled by Muslim gangs in Europe and contraband from drugs to guns, hand grenades, RPGs are accessible for the right price and old Iron curtain weapons stocks are not far away. So pepper spray isn't going to cut it if things get worse.) For those who are uneducated it will take two generations before they are self-sufficient. For the skilled/educated they are needed to = rebuild Syria and Iraq as the Islamic State is demolished, looking like 2016, given Russia's lead. =20 European economies have been stagnant, lacking growth to absorb a high drain on social spending. Meanwhile, E.U. members are funding African Union forces fighting Islamist jihadis there. Also, sending troops to help such former colonies as Mali. Protecting them from being over run by Islamists armed from failed state of Libya. =20 Note-the article referenced here covers only Germany, similar stories are coming out of other E.U. members countries. = --------------------------------------------------------------------------= -------- "Empirical evidence shows an indisputable nationwide spike in = migrant-driven crime, including rapes of German women and girls on a = shocking scale, as well as sexual and physical assaults, stabbings, home = invasions, robberies, burglaries and drug trafficking. The = document reveals that a record-breaking 38,000 asylum seekers were = accused of committing crimes in the country in 2014. Analysts believe = this figure =97 which works out to more than 100 crimes a day =97 is = only a fragment: many crimes are not reported. Not surprisingly, a new poll shows that 55% of Germans are pessimistic = about the future, up from 31% in 2014 and 28% in 2013. The poll shows = that 42% of those between the ages of 14 and 34 believe their future = will be bleak; this is more than double the number of those (19%) who = felt this way in 2013. At the same time, 64% of those aged 55 and above = are fearful about the future. The poll also shows that four-fifths (79%) of the German population = believe the economy will deteriorate in 2016 due to the financial = burdens created by the migration crisis, and 70% believe that member = states of the European Union will drift further apart in the coming = year. A group of researchers led by Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Dina Katabi has developed software that uses variations in radio signals to recognize human silhouettes through walls and track their movements. Researchers say the technology will be able to help health care providers and families keep closer tabs on toddlers and the elderly, and it could be a new strategic tool for law enforcement and the military. "Think of it just like cameras, except that it's not a camera," said Fadel Adib, a researcher on the MIT team developing the device. "It's a sensor that can monitor people and allow you to control devices just by pointing at them," he said. Work began in 2012 to determine how wireless signals could be used to "see" what's happening in another room, said Katabi, who directs the MIT Wireless Center. "At first we were just interested ... can you at all use wireless signals to detect what's happening in occluded spaces, behind a wall, couch, something like that," Katabi said. "It turned out that we were able to detect that. And when we figured out we could detect that, we started asking more advanced questions: Could we use it to detect exactly how people are moving in a space if they are behind a wall? "The device displays the signal on a screen, where the person's movements can be tracked in real time. It depicts the target as a red dot moving around the room, occupying a chair and speeding up or slowing down. The wireless signals used to track a person's motions also can measure the individual's breathing and heart rate - and potentially identify the person based on the shape of his or her skeleton, said researcher Zach Kabelac. "The person won't be wearing anything on them, and the person it's tracking doesn't even need to know the device is there," Kabelac said."If something unfortunate happens to them, like a fall, the device will contact the caregiver that they chose to alert" by generating a text message or an email, he added. That makes health care applications especially interesting, Katabi said. But she also sees military and law enforcement possibilities - particularly in hostage situations.
